James V. Daffada

Mr. Daffada’s practice is devoted mainly to advising and representing businesses, entrepreneurs, professionals and institutions in business related matters and litigation. Areas of his practice include entity formation, structure and governance, commercial and business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, financing, contracts, employment and litigation. Mr. Daffada also assists clients with strategic planning, crisis management and corporate security practices; and provides representation to businesses, their executives and employees in connection with internal and external regulatory and criminal investigations.

Throughout his 25 years of practice, Mr. Daffada has been active in litigation before State and Federal Courts, and is a member of the Federal Trial Bar and the United States Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit. In addition to business and commercial litigation, Mr. Daffada has and continues to represent and defend the governmental bodies, including the City of Chicago, and their employees in civil rights related litigation.

Mr. Daffada received a bachelor degree in business administration from Texas Christian University and Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School. Mr. Daffada began his legal career in 1988 as an associate in the labor and employment department of the Chicago law firm of Abramson & Fox. From 1994 to 2009, Mr. Daffada was a partner at Karacic & Daffada P.C. Mr. Daffada joined the firm in 2009 and is a member. Mr. Daffada mainly works from the firm’s Wilmette office.
